CurlyRed was thrilled when The Right Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent, Bishop of Maryland, and The Rev. Canon Dina van Klaveren, Canon for Development & Stewardship, approached us about designing several pieces for her annual Bishop's Appeal.

Bishop Carrie wanted to show the good work that the diocese is doing across the state, that makes up a "Community of Love." This is what she said in her letter:

How exciting to see a map of Our Community of Love extending across the 10 counties and Baltimore City that make up our Diocese of Maryland! How faithful the Holy Spirit is in moving you to share your gifts with your congregation and in the communities beyond your church walls! Your loving actions are signs of our shared identity as followers of Jesus.

As I travel the diocese, I hear your stories of transformation. You have been transformed by experiences of hospitality and belonging, by worship and study. You have been fed by sacrament and service, by pastoral connection and generosity. Your congregations are a transforming web of care and connection that seek out gaps, ensuring school children are fed over the weekend and the elderly are supported in advocating for housing. You serve the lost and the least with love, like Jesus teaches us in the Gospels. May God continue to bless your many transformative ministries.

We loved creating this playful and joyful campaign, that was formatted to a foldable brochure, as well as a full poster and postcards for each church to hang and distribute. CurlyRed looks forward to many more fun projects for The Episcopal Church in Maryland in the future!
