“Did you say you wanted a coke-machine website?”

At CurlyRed, we're always up for a challenge. However, when BILT  (a construction company based in Garrett County, Maryland) owner Tim Reed came into our office and declared he wanted a “coke-machine website” for his business, we needed a little more information.

He quickly explained that we loves the interface of Coke dispensers that you find at places like Dairy Queen. You pick your particular drink of choice through a touch-screen interface presenting all of the various categories of sodas and variations within each soda family. Tim wanted to enable the homeowner to do the same thing when requesting a quote for new work.

So when you come to the BILT homepage, you're presented with an interactive home animation with the simple question “What do you need?”. The user can choose a room and then are given prompts of renovation work that could be completed in that chosen room. Every time they chose a renovation project, it gets added to “Your Checklist,” that then generates a custom quote request that can be submitted to the BILT team.

This functionality and interface was indeed a brand-new challenge for our lead developer Mark Ludwig, but his hard work paid off. BILT now has a colorful, engaging, easy-to-use, fully custom and responsive website that helps the homeowner gets the services they need, while showing off BILT’s portfolio beautifully (make sure you check out the super cool before/after slider).
