Meet our newest CurlyRed graphic design intern,
Amanda McCormick! We had her answer a few get-to-know-you questions:

1. Where do you attend school? What is your major?
I attend Garrett College and my major is Graphic & Web Design.

2. What’s your dream career?
My dream career is to create video games.

3. What do you love about art?
I love creating art with alcohol markers, and how no matter who makes the art, no two pieces of art are ever the same.

4. Why is graphic design a good fit for your personality?
Graphic design fits my personality because I am creative, enjoy expressing ideas visually, and graphic design is a way to include math in my art.

5. Why did you want to intern for CurlyRed?
I wanted to intern for CurlyRed because I wanted real-world experience working with a professional design and marketing team while learning from experienced designers.

6. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned up to this point as an artist?
The most important thing I've learned is that good design is not just about making something look good. It is about creating a message effectively.

7. How will this internship change the way you approach your career?
This internship will change my approach by helping me think out-of-the-box about design, and considering the audiences that I will be designing for.

8. Why do you think someone should choose CurlyRed for their internship?
Someone should choose CurlyRed because it provides hands-on experience, mentorship and real opportunities for the future.

9. What’s your favorite typeface and why?
My favorite typeface is Great Vibes because it has a beautiful cursive style, feels elegant, and adds personality to a design while still being easy to read. But If I am being honest, I have not found my favorite font yet!

______

Thanks, Amanda! We're excited to see what you'll discover this summer—perhaps even a favorite font!
