Upcoming Event: Women's Monologues - Creators & Visionaries

Published: March 4, 2026

Hear from Women Creators & Visionaries in honor of Women's History Month!
7pm • Tuesday, March 24th
Performing Arts Center at Garrett College

The Garrett County Branch of AAUW is very excited to be presenting an evening of monologues celebrating Creators and Visionaries on March 24, 2026 in honor of Women’s History Month. Local AAUW members and other community members are invited to participate in this tradition of research and celebration as they each honor a woman that has blazed a path through her creativity or ingenuity and made a lasting impact on the world.

Participants this year also include some young community members, the youngest being 9 years old. These monologues will celebrate artists, choreographers, theatrical and cinematic directors, scientists and more. According to director Dr. Jennifer Virts, “The goal of these monologues is to give these creators and innovators a voice. Share their lives and their triumphs in a conversation with the audience.” This is a free event and will also include artwork created by students in the women’s studies course of the local Garrett College, where the monologues will be performed. The event is also an opportunity for the GC-AAUW chapter to collect donations for their scholarship fund.

FREE to attend • Donations welcome
