Meet our newest CurlyRed graphic design intern, Jacob Reichard!
Jacob, please tell us a bit more about yourself:
1. Where are you attending school ? What is your concentration? What’s your dream
career?
I attended Garrett College where I earned my associates degree in Graphic Design. My dream career is to be a lead designer at a graphic design firm.
2. What do you love about art and/or technology?
I love the freedom of expression about any topic that art allows for; and i have always been pretty technologically savvy so with Graphic Design being a combo of of the two I thought it was a perfect fit.
3. Why is graphic design a good fit for your personality?
I like to see myself as pretty artistic and creative, not on paper however. Ive always loved coming up with designs on computers as it was how I always felt the most open and creative.
4. Why did you want to intern for CurlyRed?
Ive always heard good things about the company, and after hearing there was a spot open for an internship, i knew it was my chance to break into the Graphic Design field.
5. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned up to this point as an artist?
Choosing the right color combinations is vital for a design to come together.
6. How will this internship change the way you approach your career?
It will earn me more experience which I will use in my future of becoming a lead designer.
7. What is your current approach to illustration?
Find a reference point of some kind and use that as a base concept for the art.
8. Why do you think someone should choose CurlyRed for their creative needs?
They should choose CurlyRed because of their unique approach to design, with intelligent designers coming together to make a perfect design for any need, anytime.
9. What’s your favorite typeface and why?
My favorite would have to be Wingdings. Its versatility for any need makes it ideal for designs requiring different fonts or characters.
