If your event graphic uses AI, we're not coming.

Published: July 15, 2026

So this one might ruffle some feathers.

We are currently witnessing a huge influx in AI-generated artwork that small businesses and non-profits are using to promote for upcoming events. These graphics all have a very similar look. Ask anyone under the age of 25, and they will probably refer to it as “AI slop” or better yet, “boomer art.”

We get the temptation. We've heard the reasons why (there's no marketing budget, AI graphics quick to create and publish, etc). But the backlash is already here. Whether you like it or not, using AI-art to promote your organization or event leaves an impression, often a negative one.

Did you know that our agency will do our best to work within your budget AND we even take on pro-bono work for several non-profits? We have been creating design work, including event posters, for Our Town Theatre for years, because we believe in what they are doing and the good they bring to Oakland, Maryland. And we feel the results are way more unique and beautiful than anything AI-generated.

At CurlyRed, we are committed to handcrafted design. We believe that the human touch is essential in creating designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also resonate with our client’s audience. We forgo the use of Artificial Intelligence in our design process, ensuring every concept and final piece is imbued with the creativity and expertise of our designers. This approach allows us to deliver designs that are truly original and tailored to the Client’s specific needs.

In short, talk to us before your next event! We may be able to help.
